Astronomy

I love stargazing and have always been fascinated by space.

Here I will post astronomy-related things such as cosmic occurrences like meteor showers and eclipses, interesting discoveries, future Mars mission news, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

While most of my posts are based in science, you gotta enjoy the wacky side of space sometimes…..

Cosmic Heritage Sites on Mars?

Why limit yourself to World Heritage Sites here on Earth?  Apparently there is a plethora of wondrous artifacts  on the red planet just waiting to be collected and put into museums.

Almost a million views?!  Wow.  But ancient animal statues just scratches the dusty surface…

I did a search on YouTube for “sightings on Mars” and found tons of interesting videos by people with very active imaginations and apparently a lot of free time on their hands.

Or flying around:

And did you hear about the rat on Mars?  You didn’t?!

Please tell me you are aware of the alien war that has been raging on Mars for millennia.  NASA obviously has to keep this from the public view to avoid mass hysteria, but the beans have been spilled now…

Well, I guess what we can take away from all this (besides the fact that some people will believe anything) is that people want to believe in life out there.  We want to know that we are not alone in the universe and some people can’t wait for science to prove it.

As for me, I’m sure there is intelligent life in the cosmos.  And I’m fairly certain we will discover other life in our own solar system, probably in the next 15 years.  However, I believe it will be microorganisms in caves on Mars or simple lifeforms in the oceans of Europa.  Then we’ll see where we go from there.

What do you think?
